Tangled Bull Elk Freed from Electric Fence

Below is a post from the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Police Facebook page.

In an effort to avoid a possible jousting match with a bull elk, Officer Schroeder, Sergeant Brad Rhoden, and WDFW biologists darted this bull before disentangling it from an electric fence. Once he woke up from his short nap, the debris-free elk ran off fit and healthy.

Thanks to WDFW Conflict Specialists Matt Blankenship and Tammy Conklin for adjusting their schedule and coming out to help WDFW Police with this task. It couldn’t have been done successfully without them.
