Score Points for Free at “March Rack Madness”

If you live in Oklahoma and you always wanted to know how that big antler rack of yours scored, your chance is coming soon.

The Oklahoma Department of Wildlife Conservation (ODWC) is hosting a free antler scoring event on Friday, March 9 at ODWC interim headquarters, 2145 NE 36 St. in Oklahoma City.

This is a scoring opportunity for the public. Anyone wanting to have a rack of deer antlers scored by a certified scorer is invited to register and bring their antlers, both of which must be attached to the skull plate whether mounted or unmounted. Also, antlers must have gone through a 60-day drying period. (All bucks harvested before Jan. 9, 2018, should meet the drying period requirement.) Scorers also will be able to measure elk antlers and pronghorns.

The scoring service is always free, but everyone who plans to bring an item for scoring is asked to sign up ahead of time for planning and organizing purposes. Go here to sign up. Registrations are due March 2.
