Conservation | June 26, 2017

The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and the Wyoming Game and Fish Department partnered with private landowners to provide 15 years of public elk hunting access to nearly 11,000 acres of rich wildlife habitat. The area resides in the southern Laramie Mountains in Albany County. The agreement will help wildlife manager better manage the elk population in Elk Hunt Area 7, which has been over objective for 14 consecutive years. In November 2015, the partners signed an access agreement that applies to the 6,600-acre Mule Creek Ranch plus an additional 4,000 acres of state and Bureau of Land Management (BLM) lands within the ranch boundary.
