Minimum Age To Hunt by State

How young is too young to hunt? It depends on where you live. Each individual state sets the regulations for the minimum age for youngsters to pick up a bow or a firearm. Some states do not specify a minimum age while others are particular.

There are also supervised or mentored hunts where older hunters can assist those who are novice. Again, specific rules and regulations apply.

And remember that introducing a new generation to hunting means educating the next generation of soon-to-be outdoorsmen and women who will fund nationwide conservation efforts.
