The Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation and some other organizations are offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of the person(s) responsible for poaching a bull elk in northern Wisconsin.

The Sawyer County Sheriff’s Department reports someone illegally shot and killed the elk on the morning of September 14, 2019, just off of State Highway 77 and Forest Road 174.

“If you were passing through this area between the hours of 5:00 A.M. and 7:00 A.M. and noticed anything unusual or if you have any information regarding this incident, please call the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources at 1-800-847-9367,” the sheriff’s department posted on its Facebook page.
