Elk NetworkGear 101 – Mathews Traverse

Gear 101 | September 20, 2019

Late last year Mathews unveiled its Vertix bow with a compact 30-inch axle-to-axle length.

Now, I’d like to introduce you to its slightly taller sibling, the Traverse. Measuring 33 inches axle-to-axle, the riser creates a stable shooting platform and amazing forgiveness.

And it accommodates draw lengths of up to 32 ½ inches. Like the Vertix, the Traverse features 3D Damping Technology, which offers unparalleled noise-reduction and vibration dampening.

The design and location of the Enhanced Harmonic Stabilizer (EHS) drastically reduce post-shot noise and virtually eliminates felt recoil. Crosscentric Cam technology, also found on the Vertix and Triax, provides a super smooth draw while producing speeds up to 338 fps.

The slim, textured ergonomic design of the new Engage grip makes it comfortable for all shooters as it ensures consistent hand placement, which helps reduce torque and increase accuracy.

The Traverse features the new dovetail mount, which was designed to attach an all-new Mathews rest. This compact, micro-adjust rest allows for quick and easy setup while providing precision tuning both horizontally and vertically.

If you’re looking for bow that’s fun, forgiving and stable, we suggest you give the Travers a shot.
