Gear 101 – How to setup your new bow

If you’re not sure exactly what type of bow to buy, especially if you’re new to archery, then please, do yourself a favor and head to your local bow shop for help.

Here, the owner or their trained staff should ask you plenty of questions about how you want to use your new bow. Then, they can help you understand the best options available. Once you buy a bow, don’t put away that credit card yet.

You need to set it up with accessories like a sight, rest, D-loop, arrows, quiver—the list goes on. And that’s where your bow shop, again, comes in handy. They should know what fits your particular bow and how to install it for you.

Now, we’re going to take this naked Mathews Traverse and give you a quick, and I do mean quick, run-down of all the accessories you need to get you shooting straight.
