Elk NetworkGear 101 – Danner Thorofare

Gear 101 | September 26, 2019

If your version of elk country includes scree-slopes, few trails and knife-edge ridges and, then you need a boot that designed for that kind of terrain. You need Danner’s new Thorofare boot.

To start, the Thorofare is 10-inches tall providing bomb-proof ankle protection. In addition, this is a rock-solid and stiff boot, which helps prevent foot-fatigue that will occur with a more flexible boot.

A Vibram Tsavo outsole provides versatile traction control in rugged, angled terrain. The weather in elk country is hardly static, so Danner developed what they call the Dynamic Response System to help the boot provide a springboard return, even in cold environments.

It’s paired with a dual-density polyurethane midsole for superior shock absorption and durability. The waterproof and breathable GORE-TEX liners combine with a full-grain leather upper and a full, heel-to-toe rubber rand to keeps the elements out and ensures these boots will last for the long-haul.

To get the best fit possible, Danner incorporated an easy pull-ball bearing lacing system, which tightens the laces quickly and comfortably around the foot.

Designed and built in Portland, Oregon, these boots are only available at www.danner.com
