Elk NetworkGear 101 – Browning X-Bolt Hell’s Canyon Speed Suppressor Ready

Gear 101 | August 8, 2019

At the 2019 SHOT Show, we got a chance to shoot Browning’s new Suppressor-Ready X-Bolt, and it was awesome.

The match grade 22-inch sporter barrel is fluted and threaded for a suppressor. Or you can opt to use the supplied muzzle brake or thread protector.

At first glance, you’ll notice the Burnt Bronze Cerakote finish on the barrel and receiver. This offers both concealment in the woods—thanks to its earthy tone—and increased durability.

The stock features an A-TACS Arid Urban camouflage finish for hunting open terrain.

The receiver is glass-bedded, drilled and tapped for scope mounts.

You get a 60-degree bolt lift, a detachable 4-round rotary magazine and adjustable feather trigger.

And finally, this X-Bolt features a lightweight composite stock, while a tacky and comfy Inflex recoil pad helps cushion the blow from those larger calibers.

This, combined with a suppressor or muzzle brake, should make shooting this X-bolt as much fun in elk country as it is at the range.

Weighs 6 pounds, 5 oz MSRP $1,270 Available in 7 different calibers with 22- or 26-inch barrels.
