A hunting trip in central Idaho turned tragic for a 67-year-old man from Raleigh, North Carolina. Larry Horton sat down to rest and eventually fell asleep in the Salmon-Challis National Forest. As he slept during the snowy and windy day, an 80-foot dead tree fell on him.

Larry Horton suffered a serious chest injury and had extreme trouble breathing. Medical personnel from several different organizations responded to try to help but Horton died in the arms of his brother-in-law.
