The big game migrations in Wyoming are quite a spectacle. The Jackson Elk Herd, at approximately 11,000 animals, is one of the largest in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem and the largest in the state of Wyoming. The clip above shows animals of the Jackson Elk Herd transitioning off of their winter range.
The bulk of these animals spent the winter on the National Elk Refuge and are now taking part in their annual spring migration back to their traditional summer ranges in the Gros Ventre Wilderness, Teton Wilderness, southern Yellowstone National Park and Grand Teton National Park.
