Bridger’s New Mexico Bull

I’ve gone out with my dad since I was a young kid, to go scouting and be outside with him. I’ve been hunting turkey and waterfowl for a few years now, but this was my first elk hunt. We traveled down to New Mexico for a youth muzzleloader hunt. I was so excited, I packed three weeks before we left on our trip. I also made sure I got all my homework done in advance of missing three days of school in October.

When we got to the field, it was pretty nerve-wracking because we set up on this elk a few different times and couldn’t get on him. I was starting to get a little worried but finally got him. It was just amazing to be able to do that. It was awesome to just see all the wildlife and be outside and away from it all. It was a cool experience.
